Sestiere Castello
Parco delle Rimembranze
Remembrance Park
Tranquil park with shaded pine trees, a playground and stunning views over the San Marco basin.
What makes it special
Origin of the name
The park is named in memory of the soldiers who died in WWII. According to local tradition, each pine tree in this park was planted in memory of a victim.
Authentic Venetian life
This scenic urban oasis is a favorite spot for local families to unwind, while children let off steam at the playgrounds.
Waterfront views
The benches facing the water are the perfect place to relax and take in stunning views of the city from afar.

Your experience here
- Escape the city’s narrow streets and crowds for open, green expanses.
- Got kids in tow? Set them loose at the playground while you take a breather.
- Catch one of the best sunset views in Venice.

Getting to the park on foot
Reach the park after a leisurely stroll from Piazza San Marco along the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront, passing Giardini della Biennale.
It’s a longer walk, but a pleasant one — offering a breath of fresh (and salty) air, away from the usual crowds.
Or by water bus
Due to the park’s somewhat remote location, you may want to take the waterbus to the 'Sant'Elena' stop for a quicker route.
And maybe walk back to Piazza San Marco — it’s especially lovely at sunset.
