What makes it special

The tallest structure in Venice

Soaring nearly 100 meters into the sky, this free-standing bell tower was originally built as a watchtower and later served as a lighthouse to assist navigation in the lagoon.

What you see today is not the original tower

On 14 July 1902, the original 1514 tower collapsed due to imprudent construction work. It was rebuilt in 1912 using the same type of materials and design.

Five bells, each serving a purpose

The smallest, albeit still weighing over 1 ton, is surnamed Maleficio (evil curse). It was used to announce a public execution.

Breathtaking views from the belfry

Thanks to its impressive height, the belfry offers stunning bird's-eye views of all Venice.

San Marco Campanile : Being the tallest structure in Venice, it's natural that the views over the lagoon from the top are breathtaking
